ROOT CANAL TREATMENT
Tooth-Saving, Pain-Relieving Root Canals
The dentists at Complete Dental Care Group PLLC have the training, talent, and tools to perform safe and effective root canal procedures that relieve pain and save the tooth in question. This restorative dental treatment is quite common, saving, millions of teeth across the country and around the world from inflammation and infection each year.
The damaged pulp and nerves inside the tooth are removed to eliminate bacteria and prevent the infection from spreading. If you have an infected tooth, root canal treatment may be able to save it. Same-day and emergency appointments for root canals are available.
Count on our seasoned dentists for competitive prices. We accept most PPO and Medicare/Medicaid plans, too. Don’t delay treatment. Call for an appointment today.
Reasons to Have a Root Canal Procedure
- Eliminate pain and infection
- Improve the appearance of the tooth
- Reduce the risk of further tooth decay
- Restore normal tooth function
- Save the natural tooth
The Root Canal Process
First, X-rays of the infected tooth are taken to see what’s going on below the surface. Next, the treatment site is numbed and a dental dam or small protective sheet is placed over the treatment area to protect it from saliva and bacteria during the procedure.
Then the dentist makes a small incision near the tooth’s crown to expose the infected pulp before removing all infected tissue and cleaning out the pathways. Once the canals are clean, the dentist may apply a topical antibiotic to kill any remaining infection. The tooth is then filled and sealed.
A crown or another type of restoration is applied to protect the tooth and restore function.
If damage to the tooth is too severe, the tooth may have to be extracted.
